PRIME HEALTH
Desert Valley Hospital Emergency Department Expansion

This project delivers a significant upgrade to healthcare services with an 83,369 SF, two-story expansion featuring a rooftop helipad. The first floor includes a 39,096 SF Emergency Department with 68 treatment bays and advanced imaging suites. The second floor provides 71 Medical-Surgical beds across 37,914 SF, with an additional 6,359 SF penthouse.

A new 16,712 SF Central Utility Plant will support critical infrastructure, including emergency generators, water storage, electrical systems, chillers, and cooling towers. Site improvements include a 1,340 SF Bulk Oxygen Yard, roadway enhancements, expanded parking, and landscaping. The project also involves utility relocations, service entrance reconfiguration, and demolition of the existing helipad.

Additional scope includes a 9,481 SF remodel of the existing kitchen and dining areas, which must be completed and licensed prior to occupancy of the new Emergency Department. A temporary kitchen will be provided during construction. The expansion is located adjacent to the existing hospital and Urgent Care Center on PHM-owned property.
